Terms of Service

      The short version: Henalytics is a free homesteading tracker built by one person. Use it for any legal purpose you want. Don't try to break it or abuse other users. The data you log belongs to you. I'll do my best to keep the service running, but it's provided as-is. Donations are optional and non-refundable except by request.
    

1. Acceptance of terms

By using Henalytics — whether through the web app at henalytics.com, our mobile apps, or any related service — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

"Henalytics," "we," or "the service" refers to the software and app operated by Riley (sole proprietor, based in the United States). "You" refers to anyone using the service.

2. Who can use Henalytics

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to use the service.

You're responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, contact slowbuildacres@gmail.com right away.

3. Your content

Everything you log into Henalytics — entries, photos, animals, sales records, notes — is your content. You own it. By using the service, you grant me a limited license to store and display that content back to you within the service, and to share it with any farmhands you've invited to your homestead. That's it.

I won't use your content for marketing, AI training, or any purpose beyond running the app you signed up for.

4. Acceptable use

Please don't:

Attempt to break, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to the service or another user's data.
Upload illegal content, abusive content, or content that violates intellectual property rights.
Send spam or unsolicited messages through farmhand invites or other features.
Use Henalytics to operate a competing service or to scrape its content systematically.
Misrepresent yourself or impersonate someone else.

If you do any of the above, I may suspend or delete your account without notice.

5. Donations

Henalytics is free. There's no required payment or subscription. You may choose to donate via Stripe — either a one-time tip or a monthly amount — to help cover the cost of running the service.

Donations are voluntary and don't entitle you to additional features. The app is the same whether you donate or not.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you donated by mistake or want a refund, email slowbuildacres@gmail.com and I'll do right by you.
Monthly donations can be canceled anytime through your Stripe customer portal or by emailing me.
Henalytics is not a registered non-profit. Donations are not tax-deductible.

6. Service availability

I'll do my best to keep Henalytics running smoothly, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties. I don't promise zero downtime, zero bugs, or that the app will fit a particular use case. If a feature breaks, I'll fix it as fast as I can.

I reserve the right to add, remove, or change features at any time. If a significant change affects how the app works for you, I'll let you know in the app's "What's New" feed.

7. Account termination

You can delete your account anytime via Settings → Delete my account. Once deleted, your data is permanently removed (see the Privacy Policy for details on what gets deleted and when).

I may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. If your account is deleted by me, I'll typically email you to explain why, unless the violation is serious (illegal activity, security threat).

8. Disclaimers

Henalytics provides homesteading and gardening information — USDA hardiness zones, weather forecasts, animal husbandry analytics, and so on — for general informational purposes. It's not professional veterinary, agricultural, financial, or medical advice. Always consult appropriate professionals for serious decisions about your animals, your finances, or your health.

Predictions and forecasts displayed in the app (foaling dates, harvest dates, weather, etc.) are estimates based on standard models. Real-world outcomes can vary.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Henalytics and its operator are not liable for:

Lost profits, lost data, or lost time resulting from use of the service.
Decisions made based on information in the app (e.g., deciding when to plant, when to butcher, when to breed).
Service downtime or data loss caused by third-party providers (Vercel, Supabase, etc.).
Errors in weather forecasts, hardiness zone data, or predictive features.

My total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you've paid me in the past 12 months (which, for most users, is $0).

10. Changes to these terms

If I update these terms in any significant way, I'll update the date at the top and post a notice in the app's "What's New" feed. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, unless required otherwise by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.
